Caring for Humanity and the Planet

2024 Action Plan (located on the Laudato Si’ website)

Earth Day is an opportunity for us to step back, reflect on our environment, the place we live, and look for concrete ways to care for it together.

This year’s Earth Day is titled: Healing Our Throwaway Culture: Focus on Plastics. It allows us to focus on the growing problem of plastic pollution and complements the secular Earth Day theme of “Planet vs. Plastics”.

YCNA is committed to learning and increasing our awareness of the need to care for our environment and how plastic production, consumption, and disposal are impacting human and planetary health, and discover strategies for personal, community, and systemic actions.

Our Common Home guide encourages us to renew our relationship with our living planet. While the scale of this challenge can seem daunting, the good news is that the answers are already at hand – it is only up to us to put them into action.
