Into the Label – an exercise in raising awareness in consumer purchasing. There often isn’t the awareness of the impact a product can have in society. Through this activity, the young consumer discovered they could choose a product knowing
- how the company treats it’s employees
- how it disposes its wastes
- the efforts made to save the environment (recycle, reuse)
- how fare salaries are guaranteed
The participants began by reading information collected about various products, about how they are made, where, by whom and their business ethics. They then went to a grocery store to select items. That was followed by voting for a product in a particular category of 5 items. In this last stage, they each made a choice of a product based on info provided.
Upcycling – recycling old items into usable ones.
Nursing home visit – getting to know the patients and offering their talent with a simple song.
