General events – Accommodations are provided in separate houses for males and females. All rooms sleep 2 to 5 people depending on the building. Single rooms are limited.
Luminosa Youth School – There are 2 separate houses (1 for the boys & 1 for the girls) with dorm style rooms, 2 to 5 beds. The program encourages shared house chores.
Visas are needed for travelers from some countries.
Nationals of certain countries who want stay in Luminosa for 3 months or less, are eligible to visit the US without a visa, under the Visa Waiver Program. It’s valid for citizens of 38 countries.

Cancellations must be received 2 weeks prior to start of event by email to youthcna@gmail.com. Refunds can be granted minus registration fees.

- Remember to bring items you need. Bring any personal items needed for your stay here, including medicines, travel documents, money needed for payment, personal money, and clothes needed for the season.
- If you’re coming from outside the US, bring an adaptor for electrical items.
- Please check-in when you arrive in Luminosa at the Mariapolis Center (building D) to pick up name tag and other items. Click here to see the map.

Luminosa is one of the little cities of the Focolare Movement around the world. Luminosa is 90 miles north of New York City (Manhattan). It’s about 75 acres of land with woods, streams and a small pond located in Hyde Park, New York. It is a beautiful oasis with splendid summer sunsets, magnificent color changing leaves in the fall, blooming flowers in the spring and glistening snowfalls in the winter. Many find it to be a peaceful area as they enjoy the jumping little animals and flying birds.

Luminosa Youth School – Airport pickup is available on the transportation dates only. If you arrive or depart on a date different from the ones given, you will be required to take public transportation to Mariapolis Luminosa.

Luminosa Youth School – The Payment Assistance Program awards assistance of 300 US dollars granted to those who qualify. 300 US dollars will be deducted from the total session price. 10 awards are available first come first serve.
All applicants must meet requirements, show proof of need and carry out a fund-raising effort to help pay for the school.

Yes. An invitation letter can be sent to you for use in getting necessary travel and Visa documents. Let us know what is needed. Allow time for the process.
Seasonally, summer-like conditions prevail from June to early September. Summer tends to be hot and humid. Winter-like conditions prevail from November through March. The winter months can host snowfalls and close to zero (Fahrenheit) temperatures. Check weather websites for more specific details.
The legal drinking age in New York State is 21 years old. (A person must be at least 21 years old to consume alcohol)
